Welcome to York Replay
Launched in 2023 as an extension of Instant Replay, a travel club that originated in the late 90s in Detroit, MI, our program has a history of training and competition. We aim to provide young athletes with the opportunity to hone their skills, forge lasting friendships, and experience the excitement of the sport. As the Volleyball Head Coach at York University, I am thrilled to add additional competitive volleyball to our area!
We do not hold tryouts; instead, we strategically place players based on their skill level and program interest. Our primary focus is on skill development rather than simply playing every day at practice. My goal is to make a positive impact on players both on and off the court.
Our story
From Detroit and Metro Detroit, we've had numerous players join our program with relatively low club costs, we've brought that same budgeting mindset to York. Our coaches consist of primarily a blend of active players from the university that can relate to playing today's game, coaching is often an indirect or even direct internship for their future careers.
While our players do most of the tournament coaching, as club director, I typically oversee most of the training, which I feel is the most important part of player development

Our Journey: From Instant Replay to York Replay
At Instant Replay, now known as York Replay, we began our journey focusing on local teams. I noticed that there was plenty of local competition, which meant we didn't need to charge high travel fees. As our club grew, some players expressed interest in participating in a more competitive schedule. This shift allowed us to offer more and provide programs for players to challenge themselves and compete outside of the local area while maintaining our local programs. We believe that fostering local talent is essential, and our commitment to keeping costs manageable ensures that everyone has the opportunity to engage in competitive play. As we move forward, our focus remains on providing quality experiences for our players.
